• U. S. Naval Academy
Information Officers or Blue and Gold Officers (BGO's) are local area
representatives for the Academy who explain the requirements for
entrance to the Naval Academy as well as career opportunities after
graduation in the Naval service (Navy and Marine Corps). They also
coach, counsel and assist qualified young men and women in the
application process to obtain a nomination from a nominating source
(e.g., US Senator or Representative) and an appointment from the
Academy. Each BGO is assigned responsibility as a point of contact for
and a representative of the Academy for high schools near where they
live or work. To obtain the name and phone number of a BGO for a

INFO Forums
• OPINFO Forums
are information forums presented by the BGO staff at venues throughout
southeast Texas the Sunday through Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving. The
purpose of the forums is to explain admissions requirements,
curriculum, Academy life and career opportunities in the Navy and
Marine Corps. Actual midshipmen from the Academy will be present to
participate in the forums and answer any and all questions related to
their Academy experiences and expectations. This year's sessions are
still being planned with details to be finalized. However the tentative
schedule and venues are as follows:
Sunday, November 21st

Church, Houston 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Messina Hof Restaurant, Bryan
6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Monday, November 22nd
Pasadena Police Academy
