SPPA Home Page

Membership dues pay for only a portion of parents’ club activities.  SPPA is an active club that has a full calendar of activities throughout the year.  Dues pay for the meetings, speakers, parent handouts, and Midshipmen gifts.  Every year we fund a share of the All Academies Ball expenses, to lower the ticket cost for our Midshipmen.  We also maintain some gear and supplies that are used for both club picnics and tailgates.  Our club has generously donated bowl game tickets and the Chaplain’s funds in support of the USNA brigade of Midshipmen.  The SPPA budget is based on funding from membership dues as well as fundraising and donations.

Fundraising is used for two primary activities:

Tailgating –

The more funds we have for tailgating, the better we can feed our Midshipmen.  Not all of our members can attend every football game and bring food for the tailgates, but SPPA is always there for the Midshipmen.  Our goal is to fund the entrée for each of the tailgates and members bring the rest.

All Academies Ball –

To encourage attendance of area Midshipmen, SPPA helps keep ticket prices reasonable by supporting the All Academies Ball.  The ball is one of the highlights of the holiday season for both SPPA members and Midshipmen.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Parents’ Association (SPPA) is a non-profit organization.  Our Federal ID Number is 23-2598110.  Our organization’s is not required to file for tax exempt status as our revenues are less than $5000 and meets the requirements of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

If you are sending support for the All Academies Ball and want a tax deductible receipt, just include ”All Academies Ball” in the reference line.  (The All Academies Ball is large enough to require it to file and receive a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 certification.)
