As co-presidents of the Central PA Parents Club, we’d like to invite you to our first official social function of the 2009-2010 USNA year: the Welcome Aboard Picnic for the class of 2013 and their parents.
The picnic is invaluable to the incoming class of 2013 as they will be given an opportunity to sit with upper class midshipmen and get insights into what academy life will be like, especially plebe summer.
Parents will also receive a Plebe Parent Notebook. Many parents have proclaimed this notebook as their lifeline for survival in the new role as parent of a plebe. It contains a wealth of useful information. Parents will also get the opportunity to speak with other parents who have traveled the road you are on now and can offer invaluable insights on what is ahead. You will also learn about our club and how we support you, and your midshipman, during your journey at the United States Naval Academy. ARMY NAVY GAME INFO Date: Saturday, December 12, 2009 Place: Lincoln Financial Field Philadelphia, PA
Hotel: Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport 4101 Island Avenue
The USNA Central Pa Parents Club has secured a block of 20 rooms for Friday, December 11, 2009 and a block of 25 rooms for Saturday, December 12, 2009 for Army/Navy game weekend. Checkout for those staying the entire weekend would be Sunday, December 13, 2009. Each family is responsible for making their own reservations and payment. Get your rooms early, as they tend to fill up fast! The deadline for accepting reservations into this room block is Friday, Nov 20, 2009. We have reserved an executive suite for Saturday night to have a small, informal, after game tailgate party. It will be in the same room as last year - #801. (Please keep in mind, as our hotel contact explained, that the Sheraton does not "officially" allow the bringing in of food for private parties like this, so we should try to keep the party low key as we have in past years). The Sheraton representative is excited to have us back again. The room rates have gone DOWN since last year, to $169.00 per night! The hotel's policy for cancellation applies to all reservations. When making the reservations, be sure to tell them you are with the USNA Central Pa Parents Club. Here is a reservation sheet with all the details, you can either call or fax the sheet to them. Please bring a side dish, salad, or desert. Also candy, snacks, goodies or school supplies to pack for the Central Pennsylvania Midshipmen. The more the merrier and it'll make the work easier. We'll fill the boxes after a brief meeting to cover some business and upcoming events.
