NavyPrep Lacrosse The NAPS season wrapped up with a game at West Point against the Army JV team. At the half NAPS was up by one. They were even through the 3rd quarter but fell behind by 3 goals in the fourth. NAPS fought back to within one goal at the end even though they faced a physically larger team with a deeper bench. Final score Army JV 10 NAPS 9. Season record was 9 wins - 3 losses, which tied for the NAPS lacrosse best season. Great Job! It was great to see so many parents and fans supporting the NAPS team. On behalf of the parents team I would like to thank Coach Shirk and his staff for a great season.
Down by three goals in the first five minutes of play against Bridgton Academy, NAPS fought back and got on top despite the pouring rain, 38 degree temperature and steady wind out of the south. Bridgton responded with repeated goals putting themselves ahead and so it went throughout the entire game. Captain Bole referred to this Napster Lacrosse team in their season opening, March 1 game as "a Team with a lot of heart," and on the first day of Spring they gave him bragging rights against a team that had never been beat by Navy Prep. Trailing in the fourth period NAPS tied it up with 1:16 left on the
clock sending the game into overtime. Several players were battling
cramped leg muscles because of the cold weather but after a brief rest
on the sideline, they went back into action. The Navy boys scored in
the 5th period within the first 60 seconds of play. Final score NAPS
- 17, Bridgton Academy - 16.
