Dear NAPS Parents,
It is my sincere pleasure to personally invite you to the Naval Academy Preparatory
School (NAPS) Commencement activities... starting with the Battalion's Pass-In-Review
at 10:00am and Commencement Ball at 8:00pm on Thursday, 14 May and ending Friday,
15 May with the Commencement Ceremony at 10:00am. The Commencement provides
an outstanding opportunity for you to celebrate your son's or daughter's accomplishments
and become familiar with the quality traditions associated with the third oldest
school in the United States Navy. You will be able to meet and ask questions
of myself, the Battalion Officer, the Company Officers, and the members of the
NAPS' faculty and staff.
Commencement is the key event marking the NAPS Class of 2009’s successful
completion of their preparation and readiness to transition into officer accession
through the demanding military and academic programs of the United States Naval
Academy. As you will see, our program has produced the skills, stamina and knowledge
necessary to succeed not only here at NAPS, but also at the Naval Academy. Our
students, your sons and daughters, have accomplished the first step in their
education as future officers in the armed services.
As the Commanding Officer of NAPS, I am continually impressed by the sincerity,
dedication and spirit of these young men and women. The members of this class
have given clear indication that they are well on their way to obtaining their
goals and ambitions. You have every reason to be proud of them.
The following packet contains information that may be helpful to you in planning
for the NAPS Commencement events. If you have any questions please call one
of the contact points listed on the planning information page provided. I look
forward to meeting with you during your visit to the Naval Academy Preparatory
School for the Class of 2009’s Commencement Ceremony.
