After 28 years of fishing my boat Venture, finally caught a
Dolphin in the 50 pound class ...... as a matter of fact, it weighed in at
55 pounds ..... how's that for a coincidence. It's a big Bull
Dolphin and was caught 20 July 2007 thirty three miles southeast of
Pensacola in 130 fathoms. This fish was like no other Dolphin I have been
involved with ..... ran off 300 plus yards and jumped over 10 times ..... took
over thirty minutes to bring alongside. We found a huge patch of Sargassum
weed, and fish took our Knucklehead on first pass. Only two "old men" on board,
and it took two gaffs to finally get this fish on deck. Fish was as
long as I am tall. Life is good!
