3.      Sounded off and circulated muster sign-in.

4.      The minutes for the 27March2007 were approved as submitted by Phil Cahill.

5.      Treasurer's Report & Budget: Brian Degnan, Treasurer, was not in attendance. Kerr Smith summarized his recent conversation with Brian who reported no material changes in financial status of the chapter.

6.      Membership Report & PA License plates: Tim Farrell (76), VP Membership, was not in attendance. Kerr Smith reported that Tim and Tony Sanchez are developing a plan to contact alumni in the area who have not paid their dues and get them signed on.  A significant objective of this effort is to increase our membership so that the chapter is restored to its “Major Chapter” status.

7.      WPS Monthly Networking Lunch, 11:30am, Charthouse @ Penn's Landing, 1st Wednesday of the month : Kerr Smith received an email from Tim Farrell who attended the April luncheon which had Patrick Meehan, U. S. Attorney Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Next luncheon will have Capt Remington, CO NAS JRB Willow Grove.

8.      Army / N*AVY Golf, 05/12/07: Kerr Smith (72) reported that event was blessed with beautiful weather. Turnout was modest, about six foursomes participated.

9.      Parents Night, 05/09/07: Rob Bender (73) was not in attendance. Kerr Smith, Corky Gardner, Jim Ounsworth, and Steve Chadwick reported on the event which drew 200+ attendees.

10. Camden River Sharks game, Thurs, 06/21/07: Tim Farrell (76) was not in attendance. Kerr Smith will issue a chapter-wide email blast to help drum up attendance for this event.

11. Navy @ Temple Football Tailgate, Fri, 08/31/07: Skip Dittmann (67) & Cal Quinn (97) were not in attendance. Steve Chadwick and Kerr Smith have talked with USNAA staff in Annapolis, and consensus is that we will wait until Commissioning Week is over and new Superintendent is sworn in before we make any plans for this event. Attendance at this event will be hurt because the event is on Friday of Labor Day weekend.

12. Founder's Day Dinner, Thurs, 10/11/07: Phil Katauskas (68) reported that Gen Mike Hagee, USMC, Ret., (68) and, until recently, Commandant of the Marine Corps, has agreed to be our featured speaker for this event.

13. A recommendation was made by Corky Gardner (77) to re-name the Shipmate of the Year Award: Byerly (1921) - Manion (2004) Shipmate of the Year Award. Discussion followed on this matter.  A motion was made to accept the recommendation. The motion was seconded and approved by unanimous voice vote.

14. Army (NJ Chapter) - Navy (Phila. Chapter) Comcast Golf Contest. Kerr Smith (72) proposed that the Chapter support this event by paying $200 for each Navy golfer participating. The cost per golfer is $400, so the Chapter would be paying half, and the golfer half.  Eight Navy golfers will face off against eight Army Golfers in the event. The event will be taped and then televised on Comcast Sports Net every night of the week leading up to the Army-Navy football game.  Comcast will give recognition to the respective institutions as well as their respective alumni associations. A motion was offered to support this event as proposed. The motion was seconded and approved by unanimous voice vote.

15. Paul James (81) proposed that the Chapter contribute $1,000 towards a retirement dinner for outgoing Blue & Gold officer, Don Mcrae. Discussion followed and opinion was expressed that the proper forum to do this is the Annual Parents’ Night event. A motion to approve holding this retirement ceremony was tabled.

16. Replacement for Phil Cahill (70) Secy. / Recorder & VP Info. Tech. Kerr Smith (72) will continue to solicit replacements for the very able Phil Cahill who will be starting a two-year assignment in the United Kingdom next month.
