January 2009 |
I am so much more Navy than I ever was while at
school. All I wanted to do then was get out of the place and act normal.
I did graduate but luckily never acted normal. The words duty, honor and
country led me to seek leadership roles wherever I went; propelled me to
heights I never would have considered had I not fought through 4 years
at the Navel Academy. I found the girl of my dreams in town and still
question her judgment today 42 years later. As president of the local
alumni chapter I’ve reconnected with classmates I haven’t seen in 39
years and found new decades of alumni that I can relate to who have
recently graduated. I’ve joined the Bay Council of the Navy League and
the Wardroom club, helped sponsor prospective applicants and arranged
donations to Navy and Armed Force’s charities. All I can remember now
are the good times and the good people of the Navy family. It feels
great. If you’ve read this far you are hooked into the United States
Naval Academy Alumni Association Boston chapter and when you can, I know
you will join your Navy family at one of our events and we’ll be glad to
welcome you with open arms. Beat Army often!
I'd like to recognize our officers and board who helped keep you
informed, and produced the events, communications, website, as well as
