Below is the update of the BGO Leads for each of the college nights, and the signed up alumni for each group. Remember to ask your BGO about any questions you have, as obviously you don't want to give out any wrong gouge! Thanks for all the support! Please let us know of any changes.

- SEP 8th - Admissions Officer Visit from Military Academy to MacDill (USNA too)
ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THE MILITARY, NAVAL OR AIR FORCE ACADEMY CPT Rob Roman, US Military Academy Southeast US Regional Admissions Officer will visit MacDill AFB 8 Sep 04. He will conduct a briefing for interested candidates (9th Grade up, especially parents/guardians) at 1600 hrs MacDill Officers Club. This is a unique opportunity for potential candidates, and their parents, to meet a Service Academy Admissions Officer. This is the individual who assembles, monitors and processes all applications for an eleven-state region. Since the application process for the three Service Academies are essentially the same, anyone interested in any of the Academies would benefit from this briefing. Additionally, ROTC scholarships will also be addressed. Please contact COL Dan O’Dell at (813) 207-2029 or email: danodell@ins.com so we can ensure the appropriate size room is available.

On behalf of the United States Navy League, Tampa Council I am sending you a special invite to our annual awards to the Sea Service enlisted men and women. This year we are honored to have Adm. Eric T. Olson, Deputy Director of Special Operations as our guest speaker. I hope you all can attend and enjoy a wonderful evening at the Latam a Floridian Landmark in Y’bor.
The men and women who will be receiving the awards are the best selected by the Commanding Officers from each of the commands. The Navy League of Tampa would like to have a special night of recognition for those who serve and protect us.

Notes from Meeting on June 26th at Mad Dog's in South Tampa

* Stanley opened the meeting talking about the agenda for mission/objectives/tactics
* Tom Draude told story of his journey to USNA, as well as Tom Dabney.
* No specific mission statement, however general gist was "Let students learn what they don't know about USNA!"
* Warren, as Tampa BGO Team Leader talked about opportunities:
1) With Scouting (Stanley for action item)
2) Key to get with each Superintendant (Tom Draude to work with Warren/Stanley/Steve on that for Hillsborough)
3) Need help with turnover of key personnel at schools (ie - the Resource Guidance Counselor - all for action)
* We were disappointed with the Pinellas BGO and Alumni Turnout - next meeting will be in Pinellas.
* We will let all know about the guidance counselors week at USNA when it comes out
* Recommend all check out the Admissions link at the top of the page, as well as the one page sheet that Marty Drake put
together for BGO guidance.
